This ring holder was made out of mahogany.
The bottom was cut from a 1x plank and the spindle was cut out of a turning blank.
Unfortunately, the two woods had a major visual contrast so I added a copper braided loop to set them apart.
The copper braided loop was made from copper beading wire. Three strands were twisted using a power drill and a jig. The loop is held in place with just tension (it was bent around a tool handle and then slipped in place down the spindle).
